See Media has really helped us to raise our profile among sector decision-makers and become a trusted voice with housing media titles. We see them as a valuable extension of our team and are excited about the future of our partnership.

Sales and Marketing Director at Housemark

Background

Housemark is a leading data specialist in the affordable housing sector, helping its housing provider members throughout the UK to improve their services through data-led business insights. We have worked with Housemark since the end of 2022, providing media relations and PR support across the key areas of its business.

The Challenge

We were initially engaged to help raise the profile of Housemark and the breadth of its offering, including consultancy, Photobook and specialist membership groups. Over time, the organisation’s priorities shifted, and we were tasked with promoting all growth activities, with a specific focus on the solutions provided by consultancy and Photobook+ to challenges such as damp & mould and new consumer standards.

Housemark also wanted us to cultivate a positive and stable relationship with the sector press, something which they believed had previously been lacking.

What did we do?

We spoke with senior leaders within Housemark to understand the service they provide to their members and developed a communications strategy and plan which portrayed their key messages. Our goal was to promote Housemark’s service offer among decision-makers at Executive Team level in housing associations, local authority landlords and ALMOs across the UK.

We developed a thought leadership stream which placed Housemark as experts on topics such as cyber security, tenant satisfaction measures and damp and mould.

Results

Housemark has seen its profile soar in the social housing sector. For instance, in the first three months of our partnership, Housemark appeared in Inside Housing 14 times and covered a range of topics from cyber security, tenant satisfaction measures, appointments and new regulation commentary.

Housemark’s data team is now consistently approached by our media contacts to contribute and support sector news stories due to the ongoing work by the See Media team in placing them as experts.

As a result, Housemark has generated more enquiries and leads about its range of services. This has been particularly effective for its consultancy business.
